They wanted to hire me, but the rates they quoted was 200 word product descriptions for $2. A penny a word was not worthwhile to me. They did say that payment for the first two weeks would be made weekly and then after that they switch writers to monthly payments.

I just applied. I put $15 for what I want for a 500 word article, so I'm sure I won't get many of those. $2 for a 200 word product description sounds almost like they are outsourcing MTurk stuff. Product descriptions are pretty easy. I do them on MTurk sometimes, and I can do one in about 10 minutes. CrowdSource pays $3.50 for 140 word product descriptions, and those go pretty fast.
