Heather - thanks for posting that, and wow on receiving $35 that is awesome WTG!!! Can't wait for the first time one of my articles does that well

Amy - I love cats...have rescued and adopted 4 of them over the years. I'll read the cat shelter article sometime later today.....my house is such a mess that today I have GOT to make some time to clean. Between my college class this summer and writing for AC, rescueing 2 puppies and keeping track of my two young daughters, my housework has seriously been put on the backburner So I made a promise to myself to not even go to the online college site and not to write anymore articles til tonite. So before I go to sleep I'll pop over to the site you provided and read. Thanks for posting that.

Thanks Laura and have fun cleaning Sorry I know how it is. Me and my boyfriend are going to tackle the house this weekend. I've had so much on my mind about school next semester and writing that I've gotten behind. Anyway, it will go faster than you think once you get started.

Wow, I'm pretty happy with myself. I haven't had my articles published a month yet, and I'm up to a clout of 4. I hope this will improve my offers. I hope everyone else is doing great.

That's great Amy!!! A clout of 4 is terrific.

I really need to start promoting my ac page...haven't done anything yet except write I think I started publishing on AC at around the same time as you Amy, and only have a clout of 2. Do you have any tips for me? You must be getting views or writing alot more articles than I am (previously we posted about # and you were double what I was turning out). My summer college class is kicking my butt with a massive amount of reading and papers due...I shudder to think what having statistics and a research class combo next term will do for my writing time

Hey Laura,

First of all, I really do feel your pain. Next semester I will have:

Intro. to Literature
College Algebra
Enviromental Biology
Principles of Biology
World Religions
American History II
Art Apprecation

I dread it. I know my writing will suffer because of it too.

I have published several articles and I think what I've published has a lot to do with my clout and I am on a Yahoo group that I told people on there about my writing, also got 15 people to sign up under me so far. I have also emailed my friends and family and told them about my writing. I also try and get people to rate my articles and I do the same for others. This gets people reading my articles in exchange for reading theirs. Also, try and write about the content they are wanting. I know this isn't always easy. One week I they had several things I could write about, the next week there was only one topic I knew anything about. I read an article the other day that said parenting articles were really popular, so you're already going down the right road. Why not try and write about getting kids prepared for school. People are really interested in that right now. If you haven't done so already sign up for the newsletters they will tell you what the top content is and what they are looking for. Knowing what the top content is will help you figure out what people are looking for. I wish you lots of luck.

Thanks Amy, good advice....btw...I took college algebra 2 terms ago and it is really hard...if you are not so good with anything that is math related, I suggest getting a tutor right from the start. I am really dreading my statistics class next term....yikes.

I do check what content they are looking for. I have 0 buddies...sigh. I have asked family and friends to check out my articles and have posted on mom forums that I have been on for years, asking them to read my articles. I read Brian's article today about promoting your AC content page and will try a few of the things he mentioned along with what you recommended and see what happens

Thanks...well Sunday is winding down...got to get the kids into their bedtime routine.

Catch everyone sometime later this week (mon and tue are busy college days for me).

Yeah math really isn't my best subject. I was always better in English. Speaking of which, I found my papers from one of my English classes and may post them later this week. They're over 4 years old! LOL

I'll become your buddy and read and rate your content. If we all stick together we'll get better offers by rating each others articles and by just reading them.

Good luck.

I got my first rejections today I had received other rejections, but those were with my college papers, where I forgot to add sources and those were quickly resubmitted. But today I was told on one that it was too short and I needed to rewrite it and resubmit and then on another one that I put under the opinion section they told me that it was well written but it didn't offer any important information. I think that is pure crap. I read this article the other day about how people don't have any manners anymore and this was about going back home to where you use to live and how it's true that you can't go home again. That was why I put it under the opinion section. Oh well.
