Default Facebook Fan Page and REular Facebook Page

My husband just published his first novel. He already has a Facebook page for friends and family. I was thinking about setting him up a fan page for his new novel that he wrote. I was told by someone online, that it would get him banned from Facebook. I guess the person was saying you are not suppose to have a fan page and a Facebook page. Is that true?

If it is okay for him to have both pages, can anyone offer tips on setting it up?

I have both; in fact, I have three Fan Pages, one for each of my blogs, in addition to my personal profile page.

It's up to you though. You can use his personal profile page to help promote his book.

I would also use Twitter and Pinterest; my husband gets a lot of traffic to his blog through Pinterest and I get a good amount of traffic from Twitter. Incorporate both into your marketing, as well as a good blog, and he should do well in time.

I just noticed I misspelled the title of my post. I cannot find a way to edit it. I think I was rushing to much when I posted.

This is an old post but let me clarify a bit.

According to Facebook TOS you can only have ONE personal profile. However, you can have multiple business pages which you can open and administer from your personal profile (no one even has to know it is you)

The benefit is with a business page you can have unlimited likes, have tabs for newsletters etc.

Your husband should have a page however, I recommend he open ONE author page NOT a book page. Otherwise he would be opening pages for every book. By combining them all in one author page he is working smarter not harder.
