Default Potential Employer Is Asking Me To Do Tasks Prior To Being Hired

I'm leaving the company name off because I don't want to get in any kind of trouble. I'm applying for a virtual assistant position through a company but the company keeps sending these "tasks" that go to actual clients. This is sending up all kinds of red flags to me as I'm not fond of doing work before I know I am an employee and how I'm going to get paid for my work. Would you continue with this kind of application? I know this is kind of a noob question. This just seems kind of fishy to me.

Hello deannatroupe,

It's a big red flag. Unless you have an active contract which specifies about the payment and the payment terms, do not do any trial tasks.

All the best!
