Suggestions Needed

I've been digging around on these forums best I can trying to find opportunities for my Fiance and I. I'm reaching out to the community of experts in here to give me some suggestions on places to apply. I've applied at local call center places and more and I keep getting turned down. (economy, employment gaps).

Some background- my fiance has 5+ years in a call center environment. He is very efficient at taking calls and has quite the phone voice (I am partially biased).

I am 37 years old and have many years experience (though with space in between) of customer service experience.

We are both very PC literate and have a strong command of the English language. (you're seeing mine here!)

We are looking for at home positions for the both of us, preferably one that is full time and at least $20,000 per year. If only he gets an at home position, I will try a local retail business for a PT one. Please any info you can provide. We would prefer not to apply to ones that require money up front.

This is a good rule to live by. Legitimate jobs are always free to apply for.

Many of the work at home positions I see posted are customer service related in one way or another. One big company that hires at home workers is Uhaul, but I am not sure if they are hiring now.

Look around and apply for anything and everything you can.

It sounds like you may have to start with your resume. There is a young lady by the name of SmartChic who does resume critiques. She was giving free webinar resume critiques, but I think she stopped. I attended her free webinar resume critique last month and loved it!!

Even though we are experienced, it doesn't hurt to update or improve our resumes. I think if you start there many opportunities will start to open up.

I am not sure if they are hiring right now but I know American Express hires home workers and they pay nicely as well
