Default Thinking of joining

I've been thinking of joining but I'm still on the fence. I was just wondering if you prefered to sign up with someone local or did it not matter?

I don't think that matters as much as it matters that you have someone who is really interested in your success. My team is all over the country and we do things via webinars and our team page. That has worked well. I'll send you a PM and would love to chat with you!

It's really up to you and what kind of support you need. I, personally, am a person who likes to do things on my own, but know that I can call someone if I need to. So, a non-local sponsor is great for me. I like having online support and calls, and it suits me well. One of my team members, however, is definitely a person who would prefer a local person, because she is not very comfortable with reaching out on the internet. I meet up with her in person, answer questions/go over things at a local coffee shop. We talk on the phone, too, but I can tell that she likes being able to meet up with me. So, think about what you are comfortable with, and go from there!

Default I have a widespread team pros and cons

I am a Senior Director with SHD, and I have a team ALL over the US, Canada and Puerto Rico.
I see the benefits of both local and no-local sponsors.
Local is nice, so you can meet in person, and help each other out in a pinch. (it is nice to be able to send a quick text if I need a charm or locket quickly) I enjoy meeting with my local team monthly for training etc.

But if my team isn't local to me, there are phones, text messages, google hang-outs, email etc. It is nice to be in another area, because then I know my area isn't getting over saturated with artists too.
One of the best things about having a team widespread is meeting everyone at conference this year! It was as if we had known each other forever, since interact all the time anyways.

I hope this helps. You may not connect with a person that is local to you, so it is best to shop around for the right fit for you. Don't sign up on a whim do your research. You can shop for your upline, because in the long run, they are the ones that will be helping you build your business, and it needs to be a good match.

The company I joined had no body local. As a matter of fact, I am the 1st in my state, but I prefer it that way. Our training is so awesome and I am providing that help to my team which I am trying to build across the country. I think either way is fine, but with technology now, you can stay in touch with your team.
