Hi!

I have done craft shows and vendor events. I have had both great responses and not so great responses.. I have learned you have to make sure the craft/vendor event is advertised well. The ones that were not so good had poor advertisement.

Also look at the what you can feature at the events.. Is there a holiday you can benefit from, etc.

The ones I had success with were before a holiday.. Mother's Day and wedding season were very great times!

great you are promoting your business. i would treat the day as an opportunity to get leads and network more than a venue to sell. good luck to you!

Another hint that I learned is that less is more. Do a smaller display, and stand in front of your booth and engage with people walking by. The glimmer kits and sprinkles went well at craft-type shows this fall.

I'm doing my first wedding show in a couple weeks. Any hints on a display for this occasion?

Debra is so right on her post!!

My biggest mistake was in the beginning trying to put one of everything out.. People were overwhelmed...

A simple attractive display that doesn't distract or overwhelm is great!

A great tip to gain a contact list is to do a drawing for a free product or a gift certificate. I found doing the drawing for the gift certificate that can only be redeemed through you (not online of course) is a door opener... When they call to use the gift certificate you can suggest a home party, party-in-a-bag or book party.. Could lead to more sales and exposure.

Good luck at your event and be sure to let us know how it goes... Remember exposure is important.. I you can have the try-folds to hand out and samples on the side. I gave the samples to people who really took the time to look and ask... One mistake I made was handing out a large amount of samples at an event and people were just grabbing bc they were free..
