If you're looking for something in insurance, try the site Great Insurance Jobs. There are occassionally jobs posted for work from home. If I remember correctly, there have been work from home jobs posted recently with a major insurance company. I believe it is for becoming an insurance agent. Hope this helps.

You have to figure out what you love and are passionate about. You mentioned Real Estate and Insurance industries. You can try those on a part-time basis and see how you like them - and if not, move on. I have worked through Elance.com and Guru.com for several years doing Virtual Assistant work. I do like Real Estate and had my NY State License for a time...but I found I did not like working for Real Estate people! LOL

My main niche was really just working for Presidents/CEO's of companies maintaining their schedules, booking their travel and hotel accomodations, organizing projects, creating documents for the company...that sort of thing. I have since moved on to just working my businesses and have dropped VA work except for a couple of fav clients from time to time...but those two sites are great places to get your feet wet and see what you like....and then perhaps go after more education to hone those skills.

Are you looking to work from home because you want your own freedom?
Are you looking to go out where you will be more in direct contact with people?
Are you wanting to work for yourself and have your own business, be you own boss?
Or are you more wanting a job where you work for someone else?
Do you have kids or family? that you want to be involved with more?

These questions may help you in deciding what to look for?
