i think everyone will spend more, services and goods are going to cost more, everything went up with thegas prices, and now they are less than half of what they were (the gas prices), i don't notice any of those food prices coming back down.

Wellllll...that was the plan...until I got "add to cart" happy and spent our entire budget on just our boys alone...I shop when I'm depressed and it's so easy to shop online! I don't even have to get out of my sweats or put on makeup! So uh.......let's just say that I don't even want to think about Dec. 26th! Right now I'm enjoying the adrenaline rush of shopping!

![]() I don't really know if we are spending more or not. Our budget changes year to year. Obviously, the big ticket item is the trip to Mexico but we were planning and budgeting for that anyway. I don't think that we are getting a tree this year though, so that will be some cash we aren't spending. I think maybe some small gifts this year but nothing major. The biggest amount I spend was yesterday. About $40.00 on converse sneakers for my niece and nephew. lol |

I don't think we've spent less this year. I think we just started a lot earlier, so the costs have been spread out, and I wasn't opposed to shopping at thrift-stores. One of my girls as been asking for a sewing machine, I got a brand new, never been used $40 one, for only $5! Another has been asking for a watch, and I found an old (back from when I was a freshman/sophmore 13 yrs.) Mickey Mouse Watch that plays It's a Small world in perfect condition for only $3! This will also be the first year that my husband and I have bought each other decent gifts...he got a couple of hunting rifles, and I guessed that I am getting one of those nice glider rockers with an ottoman! So maybe we have spent more? But that could be also, because we have most of our debt paid off?
We don't usually buy for anyone other than our immediate family. I am hoping next year, though, to have a bunch of handmade things to send out to people. |

We are going to Italy next week so I haven't had to do half of the mad rush around.
I am not spending as much this year,I am holding out for January sales and see what I get there. |

Cybermommy can I come with you to Italy? lol
We are still giving the same amount on gifts this year but I'm trying to cut as many corners as I can. I get many books for my kids on paperbackswap.com and usually I just give them to the kids as they come in but this year the ones that are in like new condition I've put away to be wrapped as gifts. Also all my family live in England and usually I spend a huge amount on postage, not this year. I shopped at Amazon.com UK and bought everything there and shipping was free. Great prices on the products and free shipping! So I've saved a bundle there. |
