I used to work for the state. I worked in a very small office though with four other very nice ladies that I became very good friends with. We each exchanged gifts at Christmas, we did an ornament exchange, we brought meals in for every holiday, we were able to have all kinds of pictures and nicknacks at our desks, we had office birthday parties for everyone. It really was a lot of fun for me but it was not a job that I could do for the rest of my life, so I quit to go to school full time and work from home part time. I really miss all the state benefits, I got health, dental, and vision for really cheap, plus all the state paid holidays were nice! Once I get my degree I plan on getting into a better state position, hopefully with another nice bunch of people!
I hope that everything works out for your mom, that state position doesn't sound that great.Edited by: raynasmom
