Default Email Processing Job Scam PSA

The purpose of this thread is to warn others about a common work from home job scam called Email Processing. First, there is no such thing as a legit job that pays you to process emails for companies. Secondly, the job description has nothing to do with processing emails. Instead, these scam job ads mention that you will be posting ads (usually 3-5 ads per day). For example, "Earn up to X per email. Post 3 ads a day and earn X per day, week, month, and year." A lot of these fake job ads don't actually tell you how much money it costs to join; however, I have read that it's usually $25. Once you pay the fee, you are given a template on how to create your own scam Email Processing Job business.

The ads you create are simply to recruit new members that pay you for joining. Therefore, you aren't actually getting paid to process emails. Instead, you are getting paid when someone joins via clicking on your ad.

I realize that many of you WAHM Regulars already know this scam. However, I have seen this fake job ad on other work from home forums (and the moderators didn't catch it for some reason). I am hoping that this thread prevents a reader from throwing their money away on a scam job. The reason these scams remain so prevalent is because people keep falling for them. If we can spread this information to others, eventually these fake jobs will fall by the wayside.

There are countless legit ways to make money online. This forum features many creative ideas, as well as lots of tried and true methods. I always tell people two things when it comes to work from home jobs:

1. Never pay to join a site claiming to offer online work. If someone has a legit job, they should pay you to work for them, and not the other way around.
2. If an opportunity sounds too good to be true, than it probably is. At least take the time to research it online before investing any money.

In short, I hope my Email Processing Scam PSA helps someone save their money to use for a legit work from home job or business.
