Thumbs up KISS - Keeping It Simple

I've done many training workshops on this KISS topic. You may have heard of this term before, but "KISS" stands for Keep It Simple Sweetie!

The more duplicatable or simple you make your party presentation the better! You will keep your guests engaged in what you have to say and paying attention during the party. Nobody comes to listen to a long lecture; what's the fun in that, right? I bet we've all had presentations that went over our time limit at one point or another! And we all know what happens... (which I like to call the "Charlie Brown" effect)... The guests get so bored from the long presentations that they start to completely tune you out. They don't hear a word you say and they suddenly focus their attention on talking or drift off in thought as they flip through the catalog. ("Whaaa Wha Whaaa" is all they start to hear!)

I've found that if you break up your presentation into segments on the keypoints that you want to share with your guests, the easier it is for you! You can even have these written on an index card or tagged in your catalog. (You can also find a guide to "Make Presenting Your Party a Cinch" in every pack of catalogs that you order.)

Here's an example:

1. Welcome, Our company history, Share your "why"
2. Share our Safety Features & other keypoints
3. Talk about the Prayer Child Foundation charity, Candles For Kids & Change for Children
4. Talk about products, fragrance selection, specials, combine & save deals, share your favorites (or have a guest share theirs), teach your guests proper candle care.
5. Share some facts about Fundraising program
6. Talk about the benefits of Hosting
7. Share about the rewarding career plan & current specials
