I just couldn't eat that much fruit, I don't think. I like fruit, but I like veggies more.

Let us know how it goes, both of you!

Baasically the way the plan works (I don't want to give away too much as the ebook is only 5 bucks) is for the 14 day plan you eat as much fruit as you want. He has guidelines on the types of fruit to eat, but anything counts: Cherries, bananas, watermelon, cantalope, honeydew, peaches, pears, apples, etc. Don't forget that many things we consider veggies are actually fruit: cucumbers, peppers, squash, tomatoes, coconut (in moderation) etc. You eat 3 fruit meals a day or more if desired. Then at night you have a giant veggie salad, with homemade dressing (no store bought stuff because of all the stuff in them) with loads of veggies, you can add nuts, another serving of fruit, and a serving of protein (3-5 ounces). Also if you're still hungry you can have a shake he gives the recipe for that includes protein. The shakes are optional. I don't do too well with meat (outside of this organic canned chicken I buy and egg whites) so I supplement with protein shakes a lot. Sha***e's shake would work too. You do this for 14 days, then you can continue on with it if you desire or modify it, quit it etc lol.

The 3 day fruit flush works very similar. With the fruit flush you have a pre cleanse day where you drink a 6oz serving of a protein shake every 2 hours (for 5 total) and the HUGE veggie salad with protein (chicken, fish, turkey or egg whites) Then on the cleanse days you have a serving of fruit every 2 hours (5 total) and then the veggie salad (no meat this time) and a protein drink.

There's more details about it as well aswhy it works so well in the book so you have to buy it to learn morehttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif. I can't wait to do this as I lub lub lub fruit!http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif

Yum! Fruit is my best friend! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gifI could easily lapse into a coma eating oranges! Sounds like something to look into since I PLAN on doing some shopping this weekend! Don't know if I could do the 14 day but the 3 day sounds doable (I do love my chicken breasts!)

This is the response I received my Civilian Fitness Program Director, Doug Briggs Ph.D., CSCS.

Hi Vilma!

Okay, you want to replace carbohydrates with just fruits.Fruits are carbohydrates with fiber. What you are getting instead of sucrose is fructose. Both are carbohydrates that contain 4 calories per gram.If you are replacing carbohydrates of the white sugar, white flour variety, this is good. The less refined white products you have in your diet the better.I like the idea of fruits and vegetables in a person's diet.Your workouts will not suffer, but may actually improve. The main factor is to stay within you calorie requirements for the day and the particular percentage of carbohydrates to protein to fat ratio.

Try to use as many "organic" fruits and vegetables as possible and do not neglect the protein.

I read the fruit diet and I think you should go for it.There is nothing in
there that is going to harm you and many people are indeed allergic to
grains.I do the fresh fruit smoothie in the morning and I know it has made me feel better (even though I throw in some raw oatmeal to clean out the arteries).

<DIV dir=ltr>I'm going to experiement in maybe adding more fruit to my diet &amp; see how my results go. I'm a little sceptical because it IS a lot of sugar...

Okay, that watermelon looks really, really good - nice and fresh and juicy! Ours around here doesn't look that appetizing yet http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley19.gif Watermelon is my favorite!!!

The only thing I worry about with me is that I just did the Candida cleanse in March and I know certain fruits will cause candida to go crazy, so that would kind of defeat the purpose of me doing the Candida cleanse to begin with. BUT....I do think adding more fruit and veggies to my day won't hurt. I'm not sure I'm getting enough right now, so I'll have to check into it.
Thanks for posting the pic - now I'm wanting watermelon and can't get it yet! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley18.gif

Maybe you can add just the fruits that don't flare up Candida?? I think it's trial an error.

Hey Vilma, I'm reading the glycemic index book and they talk about fruit and veggies a lot. They say half your meals should be fruits and veggies and none of the fruits are high glycemic or have a high Glycemic load, so what Jay says in the book is correct. You body needs sugar, it's all about getting the right kind. Fruit sugar doesn't spike the blood sugar or make you "high" like other carbs do so it's very good. Look at Jack Lalaine! (I gotta get me a power juicer) he's been juicing for years and he looks fab!

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking - stay away from the citrus. I'm not going to cleanse again this soon, buta little more fruit won't kill me http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif
