Default Dream Killers

This morning I found myself in a “pity party” mode. My dream killers had taken hold and were really loud. You know those dream killers - the voices you hear - that damaging self talk…sounds like this:

This is not a good time
Economy’s terrible
My friends think it’s a dumb idea
No one cares
I was born this way
No one in my family is good at math
I tried before
The Dalai Llama couldn’t even do this
I have no choice
After all I did for you
I’m too old
I’m too young
It’s too late

Bet you have some good dream killers in your head, too. Here’s what we’re going to do with those bad boys.
Write ‘em all down, ceremoniously set fire to the paper and watch the dream killers go up in smoke. [Try it with your kids – they really get into it.]

The trick here is to identify them first. We often don’t realize what’s keeping us stuck. What’s killing your dream is merely a thought. A thought you’re holding. Doesn’t matter where it came from; it’s yours now and you get to do with it as you please.

What are you going to choose to think? Dream killers or dream builders? When you hear that negative self talk ask yourself: does this serve me? If not, start today by replacing those thoughts with ones that DO serve you. Give yourself time to make it a habit. And before you know it, you’ll have A New Now.

Awesome Annie-Pat I think everyone does have the Dream Killer days in their businesses... one week your doing great, the next week it's slow and you start doubting and wondering what you are not doing correctly. Great article

We all occasionally have those "dream killers" try to sneak into our heads. You, however, are stronger than they are. I am stronger than they are. Crush them, they are not our friends.

Default this is what I say!

Let your Haters be your Motivators!

ultimately its up to you to make it happen! Find something to keep you motivated so you don't fall in a rut! Who cares what people say or think life is to short to worry about things we cant control

We all have them. We have to make our desire stronger and push them aside.

I definitely have them, especially the 'no one cares.' I did some writing/journaling earlier today to remind myself that's not true and my expectations from people are sometimes too high, I end up up with my feelings hurt. I've got to get tougher.

Default Dream Killers

Great post, Leaders and Successful people in all walks of life have traits that can turn dreams into reality 1. How you think is Everything- Always be positive. Think Success not failure. Beware of a negative environment.
