Hi Mamas,

What a great site and forum I just discovered. I do some writing work from home though am mainly a student right now while juggling three young boys.

My husband is Chinese and a teacher and we have just moved to Columbus, OH from Beijing, where our children were studying in public schools. We have determined there is a great demand for English lessons for school children from experienced, native English teachers and many parents are tired of traveling across town for their children to be in a large group with an inexperienced teacher.

So, to get to the point. We are starting an online service offering lessons to these children. We are looking for experienced teachers to tutor them. The hours would be early morning or dinnertime, US EST. We will pay $12/hour, possibly more if things go well and according to performance. Most lessons likely would not surpass 1/2 hour each. We prefer people based in Columbus to start, so we can meet face to face and develop trust. Let me know if this applies and appeals to you!

Hello Mamalin,

This is the right place to look for tutors. Of course, if you are working with online teachers, you should know that most of us know about time differences, can work well in the online setting and could easily help you out if you have students.

So, wishing you the best of success in this venture.

Thank you, Jody!

Do you know where we could find the best business advice for this type of venture or how to hire a business/tax expert? Is there a forum here for that sort of thing too?

Hello Jenny,

I'm an ESL certified teacher. I'm a U.S citizen but I live in Greece and I have 15+ experience in this field. Greek time is very suitable to the Chinese time difference so morning would work out perfect for me,
We really don't have to be based in Ohio, we can use skype for all communication and trust can still be built.
I can forward you my resume if you like.
