Hi Everyone, My dog,Tanner, is about 17 years old and he keeps getting yeast infections on his skin and my husband and I have been spending so much money trying to control it which worked for a while, but now he's has it again and the medicine is expensive. Is there anything home remedy that we can try? I appreciate any help I can get here, thanks, Michelli.

My dog suffers from itchy skin as well, though I've been told it's allergies, I'm really not sure what to think about it. He is constantly scratching. I came across this while researching solutions to soothe his skin. This is regarding dogs with yeast infections:
"To treat a general infection of the skin, your vet may suggest a shampoo with a high concentration of chlorhexidine, or sulfur and benzoyl peroxide. These shampoos make the skin less hospitable to the yeast."
Not sure if you've tried those sorts of shampoos or not.

My dog used to get yeast infections in his ears, and the vet told us we could use Monistat to treat it. I just bought the generic store brands and they seemed to work :)
