Hello - I think the best thing to do is take your time when researching eBay. You want to fully evaluate successful sellers researching their auctions for:

What they are selling
What they are not selling
When they start their auctions / Close auctions
Starting price (.99 or 9.99 for example)
Buy it now versus auction

As far as searching for inventory:

Look for unique items to sell on ebay
Watch for competition
Purchase odd, excess lots of merchandise (low cost)

Follow successful eBay coaches - Suzzane Wells, Skip McGrath (Google names)

Just take your time with plenty of research to make a part or full time eBay income. Also, have you thought about Amazon sales?

Before entering into ebay sales, just you need to closely monitor their site about their products and how they are promoting. Later you need to analyze what "mrswahm" says. This will helps you to get a better idea and you can make success.

I have a blog that gives tips and information on what things to look for that you can sell. TONS of readers...TONS of input. Perfect for anyone who is thinking about the reselling business. On Fridays, we have "Flippin' Friday" and people write in about items they've bought at thrift stores/garage sales/auctions and tell what they sold them for online. The blog is called Late Night Coffee.

I always make sure I post lots of clear images of the items I am selling. I know, cause I do this myself, people will skip over the description and go straight for the photos.

It's useful to browse closed auctions. It's possible through advanced search only for registered users.
