I am a newbie and need help. I want to start selling products on ebay but do not know where to begin. I want some reliable wholesale sources with items that are popular on ebay and that will be fairly easy to sell. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!

For some reason no one wants to help ussmileys/smiley19.gif. I have such a hard time finding legitimate wholesale on the internet.

02-08-2006, 11:42 PM
From what I have seen, it's hard to find a "niche market" and so once people do, they aren't too willing to just give that info away.

(And no, I don't have a niche or a wholesale supplier.) I'm looking too. smileys/smiley2.gif

Hello guys,

Try doing a search on Google, Yahoo, or any big name search engine under using the terms "Wholesale Directories" . You will find many legitimate wholesale sites in these directories that have true "Wholesale" suppliers.

Any wholeseller that ask for a membership fee is not legit.

Also do a search on the internet to find prices and see if you will profit from buying wholesale for a distributer.

How about selling handbags! I'm with Maddy Moo Creations - they dropship and you can sell them on ebay. Let me know if you would like more info!

I am new at this also. I have found several Drop shippers out there. I would like toknow if anyone has heard of them before I sign up with one. The first is www.getestore.com (http://www.getestore.com) and the other is www.tkoutlet.com (http://www.tkoutlet.com) the second one does not charge for drop shipping.

Any info on how to start on ebay would be great also.

I"m still looking in particular for DVD wholesalers. Thanks and sorry I did not see all of your posts...haven't been on for a while!

If you are looking to sell on ebay, make sure you have name brand products. When people go on ebay, they type in a particular brand name in the search tool.

A good way to start selling on ebay is to sell customer returns/store closeouts because this type of merchandise is less than half the cost of what the store paid for it wholesale.

Go to upscale-overstock.com for good deals on small pallets of bedding. Great for if you are first starting out and can't afford the huge truckloads like the big liquidation companies push on you.

I'm new here as well...what a great website this is!

I have a question for 'NICJ'...I sell on ebay and have been doing so for a while and have built a good reputation. The things that I've been selling have been garage sale/flea market stuff and it has worked for a while, but quite frankly, it's hard to take four kids to garage sales. I would like to move up the ranks, sort to speak, and buy wholesale. I'm mostly interested in either kitchen hardware, gadgets or baby items. I can't tell you how many countless hours we're spent searching the internet for a good wholesaler, with good products, cheap shipping, etc. I've tried one and I received a pallet of can openers...lesson learned well! smileys/smiley19.gif

Do you know of a place I can go to for good merchandise at a good price that's reputable (sp?) Any info would be great! Thanks!smileys/smiley1.gif

...sorry for ranting, I'm a bit of a chatterbox. smileys/smiley36.gif

Have you all tried www.wholesaledir.com (http://www.wholesaledir.com) I seen it posted somewhere else on another thread. It looks to have a lot of the places all listed on that site. I don't know much about it. I am new to this to. I'm wanting to get into clothing items.

I have a question...I am interested in selling lingerie (wholesale) online...The company I am interested in says you must have a valid reseller's license. How do I get this? Do I get this thru the company itself or thru my state? I have never heard of such a thing but it makes sense. Thanks!

05-08-2006, 09:11 AM
You need to register with boththe city and stateyou are in as a business, they issue a business license and resale license.

05-29-2006, 09:13 AM

well you can't (perhaps you can) sell the following products on ebay because many people are already doing that.

but the company does offer products at real wholesale and there is no membership fee. they dropship as well. just go there and click on dealer access to fill out the form.

www.bnfusa.com (http://www.bnfusa.com)

i haven't made a "shopping site" yet, but I would like to. I have a pretty good idea that would set us aside from the rest of the people selling products as well. So if any one would like to team up and talk about details on working together drop me a line Edited by: ampris2000

If you're searching on Google for a wholesaler, it is really helpful to look for a manufacturer or distributor of specific items. (So instead ofso instead of searching forsay.. wholesale video games, you instead search for video game distributor). Your results will be more what you're looking for, instead of just the thousands of pages of people who want to be the middle man and charge you retail prices for their wholesale products (and request that you pay to join them before you can use their service). There are so many companies out there willing to dropship, but you'll need to leave that little term out of your search to avoid the middlemen and directory scammers and research the 'hard' way- by actually looking into the supplier/distributor sites. :) It might seem time consuming, but surely not as time consuming as reading through all these great wholesale sites that simply ask for your membership fee at the end!

Another thing to keep in mind is the price that these items sell for on ebay. People shop on ebay because they want something that is hard to find (antique, vintage, discontinued) or they want a good deal. You can't really sell for retail prices on ebay and you should research these prices for yourself instead of going by what the wholesale/distributor site says.

You can search ebay by completed sales to give you an idea of what items are selling for and how often they are actually selling.

Marlo Quinn is launching in July and they have a wholesale program. No dropshipping. The minimun order is not that much either.

They offer Soy Candles and Bath & Body products for men, women & children.

Just a thought. You can check out the link in my signature.

Best of luck!!

Hello. Are any of you interested in buying wholesale jewelry??

07-09-2006, 03:48 PM
Please visit my webpage for information on dropshipping. I purchased this same program and

yes it was expensive but it's a real deal program. Once you purchase it and log in you'll

see what I'm talking about. They update it all the time and personally test the drop

shippers before they approve them to be on the site. You really can't go wrong.

If you aren't so sure still you owe it to yourself to AT LEAST download the free e-book and

learn everything you need to know about dropshipping!! I would've paid cash for the free

e-book they offer. It gave me the tools I needed just to get started with my own business.

You can check with BBB.org and also http://ripoffreport.com/ to check on ANY COMPANY YOU'RE

LEARY of. Any company that claims to be a true wholesaler, doesn't ask for a tax id #, or

wants to charge you a membership fee is a MIDDLE MAN. Getting that tax ID cost me $10 which

was spent on registering a company name here in my county.. My state (Michigan) doesn't let

you file for the Sales Tax License online so it took forever. I do know that there are alot

of states that let you do it online which is sooooooooo much quicker than snail mail. Then

you fill out the forms for your state and they'll send you a Sales Tax License.. visit my

site at http://www.mousesmilitary.com/dropship.html .. also don't hesitate to email me with

any questions you might have.. Even to be sure that this company has a drop shipper for the

items you want to sell.. I can look them up and tell you how many companies sell those

items.. I've had my encounters with these scam artists online and I hope that I can help at

least ONE person to find the TRUE dropshipper list. Look forward to hearing from anyone

with questions!

I sell on ebay and found a company called Best Wholesale Electronics (http://www.bestwholesaleelectronics.com)
They advertise as a true wholesale dropshipper that ships worldwide. I was using them for about 2 weeks and was very impressed. I finally decided to buy one of their turnkey websites and after the search engines pick it up I average around $60-$85.00 profit a day. You won't get rich real quick but it makes a nice addition to any income. Hope this helps you out and good luck with your ebay selling.
