07-08-2008, 05:32 PM
Hello Everyone,

Just out of curiosity what branch of service due you or your signifcant other serve in? My husband the Marine (once a Marine always a Marine) decided a few years back that he was going to take his career to a whole new level. He is now a successful Senior IT Networking guy for a Large Mortgage Company. I do miss how close we became with several other couples but I dont miss the politics. Look forward to hearing from all of you.http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

I've been in the Air Force for 14 years. I met my husband in the AF as well, but he got out and I'm still in. Right now we are stationed at Volkel Air Base in the Netherlands. We really love it here!

Patty, how are they doing? Do they have any idea where they will go next? We are currently in El Paso Texas. DH will be starting the Sgt. Major acadamy in August. How are you doing? If you need anything do not hesitate to let me know.

Hi Lisa,

You're such a sweetheart, thank you!

They're doing great, thanks so much for asking. They both graduatedwithin 2 weeks of each other this past May so we had a very busy spring traveling to their ceremonies.

Theyare in Ft. Knox to help with LTC training for ROTC cadets this summer.

My oldest heads for Ft. Benning in Sept. for more Ranger school and OBC and will be there until next spring, when he heads to Ft. Bragg, which is his permanent duty station.

Myother songoes to Ft. Sill for a month in August and then to Ft. Lee for his OBC and then he also will be at Ft. Bragg next spring, assigned to the 82nd Airborne.

It's so interesting how they were both assigned to Ft. Bragg as they were in two completely different schools and ROTC courses. They are excited about it, though, which is good.

where are you stationed

DH Army, 18 years currently in El Paso at the Sg. Majors acad. DH came down on the promotion list for Sgt. Major last week. That is huge. to put it in to perspective less then 3% of NCO's make Sgt Major (E9). I am very proud of DH he has hit all his goals in the military but one and that is his Masters Degree he will finish that while we are here the acadamy gives them 2 afternoons a week to do that.

Patrick you are doing a great thing. My passion is our military. Truly, I get goose bumps when I hear the Cadence and see the humvees drive by. I just wish I could do more. I wish I knew how to post pictures of our military balls so you could see how my DH looks in his uniform whew and I of course have to wear the perfect dress to match. Good luck Patrick I an not sure what the Navy is like or what RTC is I am assuming it is there Basic training program, If it is I can give you a few pointers, (DH was a drill Sgt for 3 years) It is always YES SIR/MAM never, never eye ball them and keep your mouth shut and have fun. while you are waiting to enter in take care of your body. It is really rought on it, take Some extra calcium, drink lots of water. if you are a soda drinker cut it out and your whites but get your body used to eating lots of high calorie food, toughen those feet up, take some extra fish oils (omegas) Again I only know Army ,Navy may be different. Oh and when you get in, practice the Richest man in Babylon. I see you got an MLM business and hopefully you have a great upline to support you for a while, while you go through basic. Good luck my dear you will do great.
