Hi Mary,

Yes, I have a stationary bike. I haven't used it in quite a while, but yes, if you are watching what you eat and you're riding it for 1/2 hour a day, you should see results. When I used it before, I broke up my cycling into 15 minute increments. So I would do it for 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the afternoon/evening.

I use my stationary bike about 5 days a week. I started off doing it about 15 minutes a day, and increased the amount of time by a little bit each week and am now up to 30 minutes a day. I started doing this at the end of January and have lost 12-15 pounds. I know that's probably not a lot for the amount of time, but my thinking is slow and steady wins the race, lol :)

However I think I may start splitting up my times as well on it with 15 minutesin the afternoon and 15 minutes after dinner. It gets kinda boring sitting there peddling for such a long period of time. http://forum.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif

I wish I had a bike or something that you can put infront of the TV and when you're watching Biggest Loser or American Idol you can just pedal away..Working out and watching TV.. the greatest which also means you won't be sitting back snacking.

I have a bike, but a few months ago, it stopped working! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley18.gif Not sure what happened...checked the cables and just can't get it to come back on.

I agree that breaking it up works best.

Good Luck!

Yep I do the bike. You just need to make sure you get your heart rate up. Try going to a higher level for a minute or two to get your heart rate up then go down a level and pedal as fast as you can for a minute then slow down then go fast. I found myself getting lazy on the bike and this really helps keep me going and my heart rate up.
