If anyone has a loved one that is deployed, you may want to look into the Packet8 Tango VideoPhone.

On this day The Montel Williams Show dealt with the seperation anxiety felt by children and spouses whose loved ones were deployed to Iraq.

Packet8 gave all the families on the show two Packet8 Tangos each plus one year of service, so they could both talk to and see their loved ones who are so far away.

I have not tried this service, but one I used while my husband was deployed was Skype. We both had web cams so we could see each other and would use either that or an instant messenger like Yahoo! or MSN. Skype also has a feature that you can call any computer for free, or from Skype you can call land lines or cell phones for a low cost. It was a great help while he was gone!
