We did intense research on this because we almost built a directory ourselves. The majority of directories on the net have very low PR. Many of them have none. Respectfully, if you do your own study you'll come to the same conclusion. This is not to say there are not high PR directories out there, but they are the exception.

Great advices you gave, and thanks to share, I'm amazed why most forums are disabling signature. I guess that signature will bring more traffic to them.
Spamm ! they say... but they can always delete and suspend any inactive account after 1 month but leave members enjoy adding signature.

i know some forums if not all of them will add your signature to your old posts.
so maybe it's better to build up post counts and later on throw in the signature.

i never thought of doing it that way.
i'll try it this way and see what happens

This is some good information - Thanks! The one thing everyone need is traffic and some of these ideas work quite well. Consistency is key when it come to traffic.
