Onion Soup


Onion soup is the perfect example of how the simplest ingredients can be used to create a very special soup.
 

French onion soup is an onion and beef broth or beef stock based soup traditionally served with croutons and cheese as toppings.

Ingredients:

4 piece large onions, thinly sliced, rings separated
1 cube bouillon
6 cups water
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon paprika
¼ teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons all purpose flour

Procedure:


Step 1 In a medium sauce pan saute onions in butter until soft, approximately 20 minutes. Stir in flour and gradually add bouillon and water. Bring to a boil and simmer for 20 minutes.

Step 2 Put soup in crock (serving size). Place round of French Bread (toasted) on top.

Step 3 Cover with slice Swiss cheese, sprinkle with Parmesan.

Step 4 Bake until cheese is bubbly.
