4 Keys to Successful Online Marketing

 

Successful online marketing is a result of using proven strategies, and implementing them on a consistent basis. It doesn't happen overnight, and it doesn't occur naturally. You have to work hard at it every day, and make sure that the tactics you use are the best ones possible for your business. Use the following keys to unlock your online marketing potential:

1. Social Media Marketing

Allocate a portion of your marketing dollars and time to social media marketing. Establish your web presence with quality content, engaging promotions or interesting conversations on three or more of the following social media channels:

  • YouTube
  • Twitter
  • LinkedIn
  • Facebook
  • Digg

Don't make the mistake of avoiding social media if you want to be successful at online marketing. You may not be impressed with social media, but many of your potential customers are.

Write expert and well written articles related to the products and services you provide. You're not writing a sales letter, but readers will want to learn more about you and your business if you help them solve a problem in an article. Post articles on your website, using keywords that you research on Google AdWords or other keywords search programs. For example, if you sell soaps, a few of your articles should include the keywords "handcrafted soaps" or "homemade soaps" throughout the article. There's a lot of information of search engine optimization writing, also called SEO writing, that you should research and learn before you begin any article marketing strategy.

3. Video Marketing

It's much easier to whip out an article, then it is to produce a video. You can't afford to not incorporate video marketing as part of your strategy, if you plan to be successful at online marketing. Technology for producing your own video is cheaper than ever before. Buy a flip video camera from Amazon or other stores and you're in business. If you can afford to hire a video producer for help, you should do it for more quality work. Videos are most effective for viral marketing. For example, let's say you sell sewing patterns, and your bestseller is a cute baby outfit. You could offer video tutorials on sewing the outfit for free. Upload it to YouTube, and people may email it to friends and others, or post it on their blog or website. You'll get more downloads, and more web traffic to your YouTube Channel and business website as a result.

4. Webinars

People are hungry for information on the subjects they care deeply about. Teach them what you know in webinars, which are short audio and visual presentations on a topic. You can even generate a little money in the process, by charging a small fee.  Webinars are key to successful online marketing, because they help to establish you as an expert. You'll benefit the most from webinars if you have a service business.
