Doreen, what I meant was I submitted to all of them once. You have to do them one at a time but you can use Ping-o-Matic to update most of them when you update your blog.

Blog Directories are essentialy blog search engines. You can go
add your blog and any person searching that directory for a blog on
your subject matter will find you. It can also help push you up
in the search engines because if someone say searches for "cooking
blog" they may just see a link to me via a directory on the first page
of google even if my blog url doesn't show up that high.
