I'm on CC4. I also have Digital CAT, but never had work on it. Just wondering if everyone is busy? I've hit a real slow period and I'm going nuts . If you need any help, please PM me. Thanks, ~Pat~ |

Just wanted to add that I am now a recent BeSt graduate and am on Eclipse. Thank you, Leslie Cox ldcox29@sbcglobal.net |

Hi all, I'm using *both* Eclipse and DigitalCAT. Since adding DigitalCAT a few months back, I am receiving inquiries and contacts from reporters about 50/50. For anyone in training or thinking of training to be a scopist, the DigitalCAT software is *much* easier and quicker to learn. It's also very inexpensive compared to other software. I am a current student and a bit concerned after reading this thread. I looked up some of the software. Is the software required when I graduate? I know my program goes over CAT but nothing has been said as of yet as far as buying the software or if I actually will need it to work.
So ladies do I need it or is it just a help? How can I afford it? |

You must have a CAT system to be a scopist. Several of the online programs have discounts worked out with the various distributors. So ask your trainer about these options.
You don't need the full version of the software, only the edit version. The prices for this vary depending on the type and what sort of bells/whistles they have. Some of the more expensive ones are the ones most used by reporters, so you have a greater chance of getting work from one of these. I think that some of the distributors have financing plans available. Don't forget, the purchase of your CAT software will be one of your first tax deductions for your new business.
