I recieved my 1099 from Demand Media today and noticed that is was completely off from the records I have. I don't write for Demand as the only money I got was from the old ehow compensation program which closed earlier this year.
I took the buy out offer from Demand and noticed that they did not report this money on my 1099. The only money that they reported on the 1099 was from that my articles made before the whole buyout happened.
For anyone who took the buy out offer from Demand did they report that income on your 1099? I don't even know how I would contact them about since my account at ehow is no longer valid.

They didn't, now that I think about it. I thought it was included, but I think it was just a mixture of my eHow article royalties and my DM rev-share royalties. That's odd. Does anyone know if they are planning to send out two for some reason?

Did you check the royalties section on the 1099? I received mine yesterday, but I didn't go over it yet.

Yep, all that is reported is in the royalties box, which doesn't include the buy out amount.

Same thing for me. The buy out offer was not included. I don't know why it wasn't.
