Hi all,
I recently started working as an Independent DME sales rep, primarily working with senior citizens. I have a vast marketing and sales background, so I'm very excited about the position. Best of all, I work based out of my home, and set my own schedule.
So my question is , I'd like to network with other DME/HME pros out there because I'm realizing that marketing to this demographic is very different, due to CMS (Medicare) rules. Any advice on how to dig up or uncover initial leads would be greatly appreciated, and also just general tips of the trade.
thanks!!

I would start marketing to assisted living, skilled nursing facilities and senior activity centers. If you are doing diabetic shoes, dialysis clinics have alot of diabetic patients.
Good points of contacts will be social workers and activity directors at these facilities.

Something you may want to consider is getting a Life/Health Insurance license because you may run into some final expense, annuity, med supp, etc. business. You can still be independent..
