A friend of mine is looking to create her own business website. She doesn't know anything about making a website at all, and wants to know what her options are. I am trying to help her out, but wanted to make sure I am not missing out on anything.

Do any of you know of any good websites resources for her to research this? Something that would explain all of her options (whether to design it herself with software like Frontpage or dreamweaver, or using an onsite website builder, etc.) in easy-to-understand language?

Thanks!

There are several online tutorials that would help her get started with web design. If she needs to create a static html page, that's easy to do. HOwever, if she needs to create more dynamic page and use a scripting languagewith adatabase, that would be a bit harder.

Here are some good sites to get her started:

Hi -

I'm new to this site and thought I could help with your post. I am currently teaching myself XHTML/CSS at the moment. I figured I would start off by learning the coding first before I have my software classes (Dreamweaver, etc..) next semester.

So far, I have been able to learn and find everything that I need on the web. I'm in the process of building my first website for a company and can't seem to stop and pull myself away from the computer because I'm having so much fun. I don't know if my way is the correct way but I figured once I had my software classes, it would be difficult to go backwards and teach myself the coding. I also have the push of taking on my first job to keep my motivation up and teach myself very fast if anybody has any suggestions. Here are several of the sites that I found helpful:

I could go on forever so just let me know if you need more.
