Hi Everyone,

I'm new here to this forumand new to freelancing. I just published my website and I would like your professional opinions on how it looks and I invite all suggestions.

I'm a stay at home, or work at home rather, mom of 2. I was a director of marketing at my last company 3 years ago. I miss working but I don't want to miss my kids grow up.

I look forward to virtually meeting you all.

Warm regards.

Looks great. :)

I had to scroll left to right at first, you may want to decrease the width of the page and graphics.

You must be using an 800x600 screen. I didn't design it for that small of a screen but that can easily be changed. Thanks for your input.

I wouldn't discount the 800x600 screen user. There is still a large group of people that are still using that resolution. Statistics I have seen go from 20% on up for that group.

That's good to know. I haven't done my research on it obviously. I'll make changes to it then and thanks for your input.

Hi Leana,

One thing about the look - the text is very small, that's how it looked in IE and Firefox for me. It makes the reader work that bit harder. I know my sight isn't exactly 20-20 but a larger font would really get the message across better too!

Also, I don't know if you can put a contact form on your site - it can be a good idea because publishing your email address online can get you a ton of spam.

Hope that helps and good luck!

Yeah, I know about the spam but I haven't found any script for a form yet and I just wanted to throw that out there. I plan on tackling that this weekend or next week so I can remove my email addy. Great advice though and I appreciate it.

Have a great day!

Hi Leana, I think your site looks great, I agree that the fonts are a bit small, so someone who might have a sight problem might not be able to view it very well, but other than that, it's very professional. Nice job.

Thank you for the compliment on the site. I did increase the font size and change it to fit an 800x600. I still haven't had a chance to add a form to it.

I clicked on your "Great Web Design" signature link and it took me to a blank page. I just thought I would let you know.

Thank you so much, I recently transferred to a new host and haven't had a chance to upgrade my site yet or any of my links. It should be fixed shortly after I post this. Thanks

Thanks Mark! I may take you up on that offer. I need to find some perl script. Is that what you have?

Hi Leana,

FormMail is a generic HTML form to e-mail gateway that parses the results of any form and sends them to the specified users. This script has many formatting and operational options, most of which can be specified within each form, meaning you don't need programming knowledge or multiple scripts for multiple forms. This also makes FormMail the perfect system-wide solution for allowing users form-based user feedback capabilities without the risks of allowing freedom of CGI access. There are several downloading options available below

http://www.scriptarchive.com/formmail.html (http://www.scriptarchive.com/formmail.html)

I hope this sorts you out!

Sincerely,
Mark

There are a ton of free to use cgi/perl scripts online. One that I particularly like is www.fuzzymonkey.net (http://www.fuzzymonkey.net) they offer the best scripts just go to that page then click on 'software' and it lists all the free to use scripts.Edited by: lmfrench

Thanks Mark. I haven't gone back with a fine toothed comb yet. Gosh, I've been so busy these last few weeks but after family leaves I plan on getting back on the website bandwagon. I've got a lot to do before submitting to all the search engines. But having all the input I've gotten so farisSO helpful. I'm very grateful.
