Hey guys..I went through all the info and now am a tad overwhelmed. I have been to volition...But their list doesn't specify which companies "reimburse " you or pay ..I am looking to get into the ones that pay. What are your favorite companies?
Also, I have been looking at A Top Shop...but they require driver's license number AND social security number...should I be weary of that? Is that a normal practice? I got nervous and came right over here..
Thanks so much ..I appreciate it so much

Hi Jenne,
I use the Mystery Shopping Providers Association ("MSPA") as my primary resource. This link (http://www.mysteryshop.org/shoppers/membercos.php) will provide you with all of the member companies in North America. I didn't see Top Shop, nor am I personally familiar with it.
You will need to provide a SS# or EIN to these companies. This is because if you make over $600 (I think that's the current threshold) they have to report it to the IRS. Under that you are still "supposed" to claim it, but that's on you to handle...the mystery shopper company won't be telling Uncle Sam.
Of course the thing to make sure of when submitting an application is that it is a secure site. If there is a company asking you to fill-out an online application and the site is not secure, then call and try to register over the phone...or skip them all together.
Good luck.
Kristen
