As promised in another thread, here are some really good links to sites about modern web design. Hopefully they'll help someone out there with questions.

css Zen Garden: The Beauty in CSS Design (http://www.csszengarden.com/)

CSS Flavor ? CSS Gallery, CSS Showcase, Best CSS Design Websites (http://www.cssflavor.com/)

Design Meltdown § Design Elements, Trends & Problems in Web Design (http://www.designmeltdown.com/) Awesome site!

Design Reviver - Web Design Blog (http://designreviver.com/)

COLOURlovers :: Color Trends + Palettes (http://www.colourlovers.com/)

Color Scheme Designer 3 (http://colorschemedesigner.com/) useful to make sure all your colors match up

A List Apart: A List Apart (http://www.alistapart.com/) good CSS technique site

Web Creme | Web design inspiration (http://www.webcreme.com/)

CSS Mania Since 2004 (http://cssmania.com/)

Lightbox 2 (http://www.huddletogether.com/projects/lightbox2/) not so much design related, but to make your design look nicer use lightboxes instead of popup boxes or navigating the user away from the site.

Hope this helps, feel free to add to it.

Sadly, at the moment, no I don't. I'm having to redo my business site along with all of my personal sites because my webhost went under 2 weeks ago and didnt notify anyone in advance so we could initiate moving everything.

So far I've managed to get my clients' sites back online, but mine is lacking. It needed an update after 10 years anyway :D

Great site, they have some really nice sites on there. I really like this one

we are basic - basic web works - web design and development in santa barbara (http://www.basicwebworks.com/)

It shows that a great design doesn't have to be complicated. Simple, straight to the point, good use of white space, and a great color scheme. That's all you really need :)

Web 2.0 how-to design style guide - London web designers (Scratchmedia) (http://webdesignfromscratch.com/web-design/web-2.0-design-style-guide.php)

While I don't agree with what he's talking about is actually "web 2.0" he does offer some great tips on how to create modern websites.
