View Full Version : Header Advice

I need some honest opinions on my header. It just doesn't look right to me. The title and subtitle are together in matching font...should it be that way. Maybe it would look better if the subtitle were in a different color, or not there at all. I like the basket image on the right but don't really know what would look good on the left. I don't have a logo, really.

Any suggestion on my site are appreciated. It just looks cluttered to me. Thanks!

I would change the color. The bottom of Crafty Gift Creations blends in with the white, you don't want your customers straining to read your company name. I would also leave the bi-line but would change the font & color also. You want to visually organize what you want people to read first.

I agree with Sara. Bolder colours in the main title, different (more basic)font for the subtitle (maybe smaller, too). Maybe put the image on the left (I don't know, I just like things to be left-aligned, but that's just me smileys/smiley36.gif).Have you tried this site? http://www.minisitetemplates.com/logo_generator.php Or this one? http://cooltext.com/LogoBrowse.aspx They might give you some ideas for a different-looking header. I think the rest of your site is great. Lots of options, very easy to navigate, unique and affordable baskets ... works for me! smileys/smiley20.gif

Personally I think the gold text is hard to read. Something about the white background. Maybe think about changing the font of the sub-title? Also think about saving your graphics as gif instead of jpeg. It tends to help load pages faster.

That's so funny about changing from jpg to gif because I heard the exact opposite and thus changed the gifs to jpegs!

The gold text is hard to read but I'mnot knowledgable enough inpaint shop to fix it. I'm going to start from scratch and redo it.

Text graphics should be saved as gif format and photo images as jpg's. smileys/smiley1.gif<!--
var SymRealOnLoad;
var SymReal;

Sym()
{
window.open = SymWinOpen;
if(SymReal != null)
SymReal();
}

SymOnLoad()
{
if(SymRealOnLoad != null)
SymRealOnLoad();
window.open = SymRealWinOpen;
SymReal = window.;
window. = Sym;
}

SymRealOnLoad = window.onload;
window.onload = SymOnLoad;

//-->

Yes, graphics should be gif and photos jpeg. Thats what I've been doing.

Thank you for clearing that up for me.

I've changed the header...any comments/suggestions?

I agree with the others that the gold is hard to read.

I like your basket, but you may want to move it over to the left just a tad. (JMO)

Very nice site! :)

I tried to make the gold darker but that's the darkest I could get itsmileys/smiley7.gif

I have gold buttons on the site, so I thought that a gold header would match. What do you all think? Should I change the header color? If so, any suggestions on color for it?

I'm not going to change the button color. It would be so time consuming and a real pain in the ***. I'm not a web programmer, so even something simple can take me an hour.

Thanks, everyone!
