View Full Version : Anyone do scripts?

Hey everyone! smileys/smiley1.gif I am in need of someone who can write java scripts. Here is what I'm looking to do:

On one of my websites I want to offer a "thought for the day" - this will be kind of an inspirational type message, maybe twogood sizedparagraphs worth of text. I want all of these messages to be preloaded so they change automatically each day, and remain on the same static html page. The new one for the day just replaces the previous day's message. Hope that makes sense.

I also want to provide a script for other webmasters to place this message on their own websites and have it change automatically too, either just a few sentences of it withan option to click to read the whole thing at my site -- OR have the whole thing show up on their site, but still with a link back to my site.

Does anyone know how to do this? Or know where I can go to see prices/options?

Thanks in advance! smileys/smiley1.gif

I usually start searching for pre-done scripts. Why reinvent the wheel when you can usually find it for free somewhere?

I'd start here

http://www.hotscripts.com/JavaScript/Scripts_and_Programs/ index.html

Or just search for free JavaScripts on the web.

Thanks Heidi! I just didn't know if there were pre-done scripts that already have what I want. But I will check that link and see! Thanks for the input. smileys/smiley17.gif

Also if you want the script customized, you can hire it done at http://www.rent-a-coder.com

I've used them a couple of times and they have decent prices. Bascially the coders bid on your job and try to get the lowest bid in so you'll hire them.
