I have been searching for a work at home job for a while now. I go to school full-time, am a single mom, and go to work in the evenings on the days I dont work. I am extremely busy, oh and also somehow I manage a boyfriend. My baby is 18 months old, and he is a handful at the house. He is amazing, and since his father is a deadbeat, I am trying all I can do for the two of us. I know it will all be great once I get out of school but, I have about two more years before that. I need a job that I can do online since I don't get quiet time. Maybe data entry, virtual assistant...I'm not real sure... I checked into freelance.com but, I wasn't sure if I would even get something that would fit my needs and if I would be able to keep it. Does anyone have any ideas for me?

Hi!

First and foremost, data entry jobs are few and far between, unfortunately. However, there are companies listed here that hire for this, as well as quality rater and editor (rater or similar). Most want quick typists and a bit of experience in this particular field. I would suggest contacting local companies and inquiring as to their thoughts on contracting you as an IC.

There are editing and proofreading positions available online as well...check out ratracerebellion.com as they have companies listed that hire writers for articles (paid per article) and many other listings that may/will help in your search.

Good luck and I hope someone else can offer you the assistance that you seek. I know what being a single college and work attending mom can entail, and I hope the best for you!!

Check out the transcription folder below. Lots of great information on getting started in transcription. It sounds like something that might be a good fit for you.
