View Full Version : Tart Burners

I have a tart burner that uses a tealite, while I use the shredded Votive (Mia Bella of course!) to melt on top.

I am wondering if this is a contradiction because the tealite is the "P" word! Haha! I'l not sure that every time I get a booth at the all the little craft fairs around San Jose (there's a festival/fair for just about everything here...EVERY weekend!) and they don't always have electrical outlets to burn an electric warmer.

How should I justify the "P" tealite? Will it be safe for me to make my own tealite using the soy wax?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Thanks!

Hi Irene!

"P" doesn'town the market on tealights! lolGo ahead and use your tart burner. smileys/smiley1.gif Just use cheepy Walmart/Dollar store tealights. You're using it for the heat, not the scent or appearance.

Nope, don't make your own tealights. Corporate does not want us to make items with wicks from our candle wax. (safety, insurance reasons).

De-LIGHTfully!

I will definately try to get an electric warmer. I think I now remember someone mentioning that we can't melt our soy wax and remaking them into something else.

Also, I seem to recall a posting where it mentioned that candle "lamp shades" are not advisable. I just can't find the post. I know there will be people asking me about shades and stuff too.

About the shades - They actually heat up the candle more and make their candle burn faster (actaully bad for our candles - dangerous)- so I tell them that they are not recommended on our candles and if they want their candles to last longer -don't use them on any candle-

Plus, we don't need shades or chimneys - ours burn cleaner.

Also warn them about candle warmers - very dangerous for ALL jar candles - they are not recommended for glass jars for any type of candle. They can explode.
