Carmen, just to reiterate what happened with the BBB...

Ameriplan initially started with a leased network with our medical. We received one complaint to the Attorney General in Montana. The complaint was that we had a list of providers in which was a bogus list. They called the list and asked the providers if they accepted “AmeriPlan”. Their answers were that they don’t and they don’t even know who we are. Why would they – they didn’t contract with us – they contracted with the leased network of providers that we were using. (This would be the same with our Vision and Prescription as well for example. Our Vision is through Coast-to-Coast Network of Providers so if someone were to ask a Vision Center if they accepted Ameriplan, they might not recognize it either but if a member comes in with an Ameriplan Card, the Coast-To-Coast is clearly identified on the card. Prescriptions same thing - through HealthTrans network of pharmacies (again clearly identified on the membership cards).

The issue was resolved; however, the BBB subsequently 'suspended' AmeriPlan's status - the BBB is not allowed (by their OWN doctrine) to suspend any company unless that company has an open legal action against them (AmeriPlan did not). If we had any legal issues against us - even ONE legal dispute or lawsuit against Ameriplan - we would not be members of the US Chamber of Commerce or the Direct Selling Association who holds companies to very STRICT standards of operation.

Today, most of our medical network is “Proprietary” meaning we contract directly with our medical providers. Eventually, when we’ve contracted with a sufficient number of medical providers in the other states (especially the more rural areas), we will no longer need to use a leased network in those areas either.

It’s also important to understand that with the BBB, companies PURCHASE their membership and the BBB does NOT investigate companies. This information can be found all over the internet - including workathomenoscams.com who has a huge write-up about the BBB.
