Default important info- everyone please read

A couple of days ago, someone hacked into my email account. They managed to access both of the online jobsites I write for because the sites use email addresses as log-in info. All the hacker needed to do was do the 'reset password' option, and the ability to change the passwords were sent to the email account that he/she still has control of.

I'm posting this in case anyone else has online jobsites or any other online site for that matter that uses your email address for login. I don't know if anything can be done about this policy, but I thought I should alert you that hackers can use it for their benefit.

Didn't you get any alerts from the job sites? Because most of the sites will warn you if a login is made from a device other than the one you used for registration.
