Default Just a warning about WordAgents

I applied to WordAgents and received a really nice initial reply. I was preparing to do the test assignment but had a couple questions. I was told to feel free to ask questions throughout the process, so I did. I was completely put off by the attitude I received when I asked a simple formatting question. I have worked for many companies and many clients and know that understanding formatting for titles, headings, etc. is important, so I wanted to make sure what formatting was needed because it wasn't specified in any of the materials they sent me. Instead of a simple answer, I got a reply that was filled with snark and attitude. I was accused of not knowing how to do my job as a freelance writer or knowing how to use my word processing software. This completely turned me off on working for this company, and I withdrew my application. Instead of leaving it at that, he replied with "See Ya." This is probably the most unprofessional and rude encounter I have ever had with a company. I just want to warn others who may be considering working for this company of what kind of treatment they dish out to people who aren't even working for them yet. I feel like I dodged a bullet. I hope their customers have some idea of how they treat their workers (or in this case, someone who wasn't even working for them yet).

That's terrible. It's kind of ironic that you brought them up because I've recently applied as a writer and haven't heard back. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise.

I'm honestly surprised to hear this. I have nothing but awesome things to say about WordAgents, and I've been working with them since October 2016. They are always quick to answer if I have questions, and have always been super helpful and courteous. I'm sorry you've had such a negative experience

I was shocked by it, too, because up to that point, everything had been nice. The first email was friendly, and I thought things would turn out good.

Hey Everyone.

We apologize if one of our representatives spoke out of line or disrespected you in any way. We work with several writers from WAHM and maintain long, successful working relationships with them.

Our writer evaluation process is strict and we do not hire each of the several hundred applicants that contact us every time we expand our team.

Regardless, it is our fault for speaking to you with anything but respect. We will research the incident and use it as a teaching tool to ensure something like this does not happen again.

Thanks for the support @theworkathomemom!
