Default Infobarrel

I never seem to hear much about Infobarrel from other writers, but the site has a good reputation. With Helium gone, Bubblews on the decline and reports of CGP Gallery not paying, this is a good site to check out.

I used to post at the site but got distracted by B where I made more money until the changes, so I plan to go back there to post again. They have strict guidelines, so you won't see the garbage that often occurs at B or CGP Gallery.

Are you getting search engine traffic for your articles? I read an article a while back that seemed to suggest that Google had docked them with some penalty because of which indexing of web pages isn't happening as it should?

I used to write at IB and still have some articles there and while I can't comment on how much people are earning now (the articles I have left there aren't earning anything more than a few pennies a month) I can say that the admins are good and treat their writers well. The forum is also pretty awesome with lots of info and helpful people.

I got burned by Bubblews (like many others), but I'll definitely give InfoBarrel a try

Infobarrel! Used to like this one.

Requires massive effort to get anywhere, and have 100 infobarrels to my name - wrote them a while back in one of my first online efforts.

Earns minimal now after earning a couple of bucks a day for a year or so in 2011? Moved on to bigger and better things

Great to get you into the habit of writing, but I feel that 100 articles on IB or the old hubpages or even squidoo is better served being written on the ONE market/topic and placed on a blog that you yourself own!

I've never written for IB and have heard some good things about them, but that was a while ago. One thing I have heard is when you write articles on IB, you give up complete control of them forever. You can't just move them off when you want and put them someplace else. You have to get special permission or something like that and they can say no. That is kind of important to me, so I would never write on InfoBarrel. Maybe someone else who has more experience writing on there can clarify this.

I don't think people write there for the money but to get attention for their blogs and content writing skills. It is something to put on a resume or show to potential clients IMO. A form of free advertising like most sites that permit links.

I had a few articles up there about a couple of years ago or so. It never seemed to generate any traffic for me, so I decided to delete them and move it to my HubPages account. I was surprised to see I couldn't delete the article myself. That's when I realized you had to mail the admin there to get them deleted.

I did mail the admin and I got it deleted about 2-3 days later. On the forums there, I've seen the occasional odd post about it taking quite a bit longer apparently because of the mail getting lost and the admin not seeing it.

So yes, you own your article and do not give up the rights to it. However, it would still be a good idea to read their TOS to see if there are any recent changes.
