You can always look through the ads posted on CL to get some ideas. I can't see someone on here telling you EXACTLY what to write because you are their competition. I know I wouldn't. I have gotten one private client from CL who lives in my area that has been ongoing off and on.

I did not mean to step on any toes. I apologize.
I am quite honest and never intended on stealing clients away from any of you. Perhaps I should have worded my post differently. Sorry. |

I don't think there's any harm in giving someone general information ... we are all here to support each other, after all.
I have had a lot of luck with Craigslist (although I currently have 2 ads running and have gotten NO bites). A few of my current and fairly regular clients are from CL and one local client who found me on CL was good for about $3,000 worth of work over a 2-month period and a referral which resulted in an ongoing $240 a month blogging contract (small but also very easy job). I keep my ads fairly short, and simply tell people why they should hire a writer (I think a lot of small business people think they can do their own writing, that it doesn't matter that much), and how I can help. I give a link to my website and that's it. Good luck! |

I did not think there was anything wrong with asking for help either, so I appreciate that you understood! ![]() |
