When I did if for my clients I charged $30 an hour for reading,editing, proofreading. Hope that helps. The other way to do it is to go by per project. Estimate how many hours you think it will take you and give a flat fee.

Indeed. I tend to add on two to 3 extra hours so I can reduce stress and give myself breathing room. That could be an option. I mean why not add in 5 hours so that you can guarantee you'll have time to really do it right.
