Default Testing for WG

Before I send the e-mail to them to confirm that I want to test, I have a few questions...

- Do you get paid for your test articles?
- How many test articles do they assign?
- Is the pay still $10/article?
- Do they just give you any topics or do you have any say in the topics (this goes for post-test also)?
- How do they compare to DS?
- Anything else I should know?

Thanks!

1. Yes
2. 5. You choose them.
3. Yes. You can pick. Some of mine were $10 and some higher.
4. There are over 500 titles to choose from at any time in my experience.
5. I like them much better. Same editor, consistent, no weirdness.
6. Keep the guidelines open while you write.

Very important to follow the guidelines, as ccook mentioned.

Incorporate any suggestions your test editor makes into your next batch. You don't need to be perfect, but the editor will be looking for improvement.

The editors are very polite and helpful.

Good luck!

Another thing to keep in mine - they test in 3 phases. 5 articles for the first phase, 5 the second, and 5 the third. So I guess I should have said 15 in all. But they pay for everything.

When I tested it was 3 batches of 3 equaling 9. I just passed the test not too long ago and found the experience very nice. I like the title selection because there are plenty that I learned about while in university. Everyone's advice is pretty good so I don't have anything else to add! Good luck!

I was also given 3 batches of 3 as the test and was paid after each batch.

Once I was selected, then I started getting paid after batches of 5 or more.

Articles range from $10-$13. I write a lot of health articles most of those are $11. My next favorite is business they are $13. I know food titles are $10, I did several of those during my test b/c they had ones up at the time that made me comfortable. Strangely I have never written a $12 article, I guess the categories don't appeal to me for those.

I also had to write 3 batches of 3 when I tested 2 years ago. Also, the articles range from $10 to $14 each (they used to be a flat $10 each). I used to do mostly $11 articles, but lately the $12 and $13 articles are the ones that most appeal to me.
