I have been using word press through empower network and it has been working really well, really simple to use and it has an easy mode available. Hope this helps.

I use Wordpress for most my sites. You can get a free wordpress site or you can get your own domain and hosting for your wordpress site.

As far as free wordpress sites I prefer Wordpress Express, it is easy to install and can be done in under a minute. Wordpress Express and siterubix.com work together so your url would look like this:

mysite.siterubix.com

For paid domain I use godaddy or 1and1. I host with hostgator. If you get your own domain your url will look like this:

mysite.com (or .net or .org)

Are you thinking of free site or paid site?

It is always best to have your own domain and hosting that will give you total control of your site. I know it can be tough starting out though and you can always move the content from one site to another (it can be tricky and sometimes rankings are lost..) but it can be done.

As far as Empower networks goes, I have not tried it myself. But I read a post yesterday somebody promoting it and they charge for hosting (which is ok just compare it with other hosting companies) but what got me was that you have to pay to be a part of their affiliate program, promoting their program... if I understood it right... and that is not something you want to do. You don`t want to pay to make them more money!
There are plenty of free affiliate programs to promote, some are

Clickbank
Commission Junction
Linkshare

The list goes on...

Just be careful.

I use Ucoz. They let you blog for free but give you an option to upgrade if you would like to do that later on.

I buy my domain names at NameCheap and host with Hostgator.

It is easy to start a WordPress blog on Hostgator with just a few clicks.

The domains I get with Godaddy or 1and1 Namecheap is good too...

I have used Hostgator as my host for years and never had any problems.
