Living Naturally

These days everyone is making a greater effort to conserve the
planet's resources. Words like carbon footprint, sustainability, and
green have become common place in our society. We're all taking a
closer look at how our day-to-day activities affect the resources we
have for future generations. Watkins has been a pioneer in living
naturally since 1868.

Why kids are more vulnerable to chemicals…

Children are much more sensitive than adults to chemicals in the
environment. Exposure to a chemical that causes no discernible effect
in an adult can cause significant harm to an infant. Some reasons for
this include:

[*]Children frequently have their hands in their mouths,
making it more likely that they will ingest toxins with which they come
in contact.[*]Children have a faster metabolism — pound for pound, children eat more food and breathe more air than adults.[*]Children play on the floor, where many toxins in the home settle.[*]Children's metabolic pathways are immature, and they are less able to detoxify and excrete toxins that get into their system.[*]Children are undergoing rapid development, and organ systems that
are disrupted while in the middle of growing may fail to form correctly.[*]Children have more years for toxins to accumulate in their bodies and reach unsafe levels.[/list]
(Green Up your Cleanup - Jill Potvin Schoff)

Watkins all-natural, plant-based home care products are the perfect
solution. Children really are the heart of the Green movement and
doesn't it really come down to doing what is best for our kids?

This is so shocking. I was recently able to locate the only product in the entire world that is honest to God “Chemical Free” I am repulsed that I have been poisioning myself, and my babies and was blind to the truth and fooled by marketing execs who can basically use gasoline in skin cream without ever having to tell me the consumer they are doing it. I use the Made from Earth Aloe Body Therapy and the Vitamin Enhanced Face Firming Serum.

I am using something that I am proud of today !And my skin looks and feels amazing ! It oughta be illegal what these folks are doing!

Default Chemical Free

Thank you for posting this article. This is what sold me on Watkins products.
I try to stay away from all that as much as possible and Watkins makes that possible!

This weekend we went to the lake to see my parents & forgot the bath soap for our 6 month old.
She needed a bath badly so we figured we would just use a *little* bit of B&BW shower gel on a rag and wipe her down quickly and everything would be ok.
She grabbed the rag and tried to suck on it like she always does and her daddy pulled it away as soon as she got it to her mouth.

Within SECONDS her ear swelled up to twice its size. It swelled right before our eyes!
We had her out of the water, rinsed off, dressed & in the car headed to town within minutes. Luckily an ER visit was not needed and just hit the store for some benedryl.

Today, two days later, her ear is still a little swollen but looking much better. It never really bothered her and there has been no other reaction.

The ingredient list for that B&BW gel was a mile long. Never again - not even for us.
