If you decide to get a new keyboard at some point in the future, you might like a mechanical keyboard. I had a Rosewill and now I have a ikbc. I use the blue mechanical keys. They are clacky sounding but I put dampners on my keys so they aren't quite so noisy. You can actually gain speed with these keys. It's hard to explain what's so good about them but you'd just have to try them to see for yourself.

A good mechanical keyboard can be from $30 all the way up to a couple hundred for one. I actually wouldn't use an old keyboard. It could have been in the basement for a reason.

Thumbs up

I never knew mechanical keyboards existed! Thanks for the tip. I think I will just stick to using my Lenovo laptop with the number keypad for this job. I have been doing this job for 8 years and I have never had a problem with my keyboard and typing while doing this job. However, I do wish I had a keyboard that lights up, it would make it easier to see what I am typing when working at night but I have always managed without a lighted keyboard for years. It would just be a nice feature to have on my laptop.

Hello,
The best keyboard depends upon your budget and your use. Personally, I'm
quite happy with the Apple keyboards, although I've used a lot of other nice
ones, too. Apple's keyboard is also easy to clean.

Diamond500, you are not alone. I have never heard of a mechanical keyboard either. Will have to check it out. I could sure use any help there is. Seems no matter what category I choose, I can never get over $3-4 an hour.

I've just purchased my first mechanical keyboard and I'm in love. It had a bit of a learning curve compared to my flat iMAC keyboard, but now that I've gotten used to it I'm so much quicker with my keying.
