Default Tax Question for anyone getting Social Security

Does anyone know if you still have to file taxes if you are getting Social Security and get a Misc 1099? I only made $1444 on the Misc 1099. Do I still need to file? I have researched this and getting conflicting answers. Thought maybe one of my fellow keyers might know the answer.

(Not an accountant)

But according to IRS Publication 554 (Tax guide for seniors), you need to perform a calculation for your base amount. To do so, you take half of your Social Security income and then add in all other income you received from 1099s or other sources.

You will need to file taxes if your base amount is:
• $25,000 if you are single, head of household, or quali-
fying widow(er);
• $25,000 if you are married filing separately and lived
apart from your spouse for all of 2019;
• $32,000 if you are married filing jointly;

The IRS document I referenced is here

(And I just realized this was an old post, sorry I didnt see it earlier. It looks like the previous spam post made it pop up in my feed, haha)
