Should the initial zero be ignored ?

What about spaces? Should spaces be ignored too ?

Thanks in advance for your reply.
06 8907653 would get keyed all together in the numeric work type. It won't allow you to put in a space anyway. So, just key it all together like one continuous line. Each work type is set up so you can't put in characters that the rule doesn't allow. For instance in the Letters only work type, if you tried to key in a number or any other character that is not a letter, it won't accept it anyway. The number/character won't show up, so it makes it easier to not mess up on the rules.

Thanks for the clarification. What about the initial zero, should it be ignored ?

You should enter the leading zero when you are keying numeric. You skip it if you are keying dollars.
