My step-daughter might really do well with this. I will tell her about it!

Thanks,

Default No Work with TranscribeMe

I can't ever seem to log in when there is work. The page just says check back in one week. Anyone else actually getting files and is this because I am new?

Also if anyone knows of any other companies that use their own software like this one and Quicktate, please let me know.

Thanks,

Margie

I know someone who is working for this company, and she said they are now only offering $20/audio hour for anyone hired after September 1. At a 1:4 ratio, that comes out to $5/hour.

Default Confused about the pay.

I know they say it is $20 per audio hour and also in the introductory video he stated that they use a program to time how long you, yourself, is actually working to transcribe. However, you also have the little chart that pops up with how many audio "hours" you have completed with a $ amount next to them. I understand the difference in that. Which are we getting paid? A straight $20 per audio hour or the $ amount in the chart? Or both?

The rate was appalling when it was at $30. Now $20?

It's a perfect example of what has been said over the years: if new transcriptionists will accept bottom-of-the-barrel rates, the companies will simply reduce them further.

Those of you who think this is a good contract, please think again. Read older threads about rates. Think of the bigger picture. If you want to be in this profession, you really need to do so.

I think Transcribe Me has signed up people from all over the world, which probably explains the low pay.

Post Interested!

I've never heard of Transcribe Me but after reading some of the posts, I think I will give it a try. Sounds legit. I'll post with more info after I try it.
