Extreme Couponing

Because of the Extreme coupon show stores are changing their coupon policies. Coupon dealers such as RedPlum and Smartsource are calling it coupon fraud and are looking into suing the show plus ebay and other places that sell coupons.

I think the show was a big mistake to air now us normal people who don't take all the stuff from the stores for free with thousands of coupons have to suffer.

Hi! Before I reply, could you provide proof of these allegations? It's just not fair to make statements like that without backing them up.

Now, I don't think things will get that bad. Look at what's going on with the economy. The cost of living is rising much faster than wages, which means our buying power is decreasing all the time. There are products out there that we will just not be able to afford to buy without coupons, and manufacturers and retailers know that. They will be hurting themselves much more by limiting or discontinuing coupons. Besides, the majority of the coupons available in the US go unused, so I really don't see any big problems on the horizon.

I don't know if it is because of the show, but I have just begun couponing and I've noticed that a few of the coupons that I've clipped have "limit 4 like coupons per transaction" or something similar.

It's common knowledge that the show promotes fraud. TLC's Extreme Couponing raising controversy as new season approaches | Jill Cataldo. Who the heck goes on national tv and commits fraud? insane.

I see a give and take with stores and manufacturers. Right now, things are "tightening up" with coupon use. As the shows popularity dies, things will loosen up again. I think any "coupon problems" will be temporary.

Again, this is one person's OPINION. There is no proof that any of the people on the show committed fraud. Can't people just accept the fact that this show was meant to help us without trying to shoot it down?

I love couponing but am not a fan of the show. It gives those of who do much less extreme couponing a bad name. Stores are changing their policies because of that show. Too many people are trying to duplicate what people are doing on that show and ruining it for those of us who are stocking up for 3-6 months for a family of 4.
